For my undergraduate dissertation on the BA Music & Sound Recording course at the University of York, I composed three contrasting pieces of music which portray various aspects of my experience of living with a hearing impairment.

These pieces were created with the intention of communicating the concept of aural diversity to listeners, aiming to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of the varied ways in which individuals experience sound. Each composition explores different facets of my auditory experience, reflecting the challenges and unique perspectives that come with hearing loss.

The three compositions included in this project are:

Fundamental Difference

Audiograms

Aural Fragmentation

Go ahead and read the accompanying paper for this project on my Medium story, which discusses the inspirations, techniques, and objectives behind each composition in detail.
